About the Role
Merlin is a venture-backed aerospace startup building autonomy for safer, lower-crew, and uncrewed flight. As a Test Data Engineer, you’ll serve as the key connection between Merlin’s internal data teams and external vendors—helping ensure their products are usable by Merlin engineers through training, configuration, and (when needed) vendor-aligned service development.
Responsibilities
- Own and evolve Merlin’s test data platform, supporting end-to-end test data workflows
- Coordinate with internal data customers and external vendors to ensure solutions meet engineering needs
- Lead engineering process and systems-level work to keep the platform reliable and maintainable
- Apply configuration control and change management to protect data integrity across environments
- Use technical domain knowledge to troubleshoot issues and improve data pipelines and integrations
Requirements
- Experience working with test data workflows and data platform operations
- Strong understanding of configuration control, versioning, and change management
- Ability to collaborate across engineering teams and external vendors
- Systems-engineering mindset with experience guiding engineering processes
