About the Role
CG Group is seeking an Underwriter to assess and underwrite Personal and Commercial Lines risks in line with company guidelines, delegated authority, regulatory requirements, and sound underwriting principles. You’ll help drive profitable growth while maintaining strong service standards and high-quality documentation.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate and underwrite Personal and Commercial Lines risks according to company processes
- Apply delegated authority levels and comply with all regulatory requirements
- Support profitable growth, renewal retention, and consistent service excellence
- Produce and maintain accurate underwriting documentation
- Collaborate effectively across the underwriting value chain to ensure quality outcomes
Requirements
- 3 years of underwriting experience
- Completed or actively pursuing the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) Diploma Level (or equivalent)
- Completion or active pursuit of a Bachelor’s degree in Insurance & Risk Management, Business Management, or a related field (asset)
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with strong communication and organization
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively, with sound judgment and attention to detail
