About the Role
We’re seeking a bilingual Patient Advocate Representative to help screen self-pay patients at the bedside and connect them with eligible governmental and non-governmental assistance programs. In this role, you’ll review potential payor sources and guide patients through the financial assistance process with care and professionalism.
Responsibilities
- Interview patients and/or family members to understand financial needs and eligibility
- Screen self-pay patients at the hospital bedside for program qualification
- Identify potential payor sources such as auto insurance, Workers’ Compensation, commercial/private insurance, and TPL
- Route accounts appropriately within the Patient Accounting environment
- Complete and obtain the Confidential Financial Statement form
- Assist patients with applying for benefits they may qualify for
Requirements
- Bilingual communication skills (language not specified in posting)
- Experience working with patients and/or in a healthcare administrative or financial assistance setting
- Strong documentation and recordkeeping skills
- Ability to conduct interviews and handle sensitive financial conversations with empathy
