About the Role
Join the Louisiana State Museum in New Orleans as a full-time Carpenter Foreman. This onsite role oversees carpentry work across multiple historic properties and museum locations, ensuring projects are scheduled, reviewed, installed, repaired, and maintained to a high standard.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate carpentry crews and daily field activities
- Schedule, review, and oversee carpentry tasks for installation, repairs, and ongoing maintenance
- Ensure work is completed safely, accurately, and in line with museum standards
- Manage carpentry needs across sites, including Cabildo, Creole House, Jackson House, Arsenal, Presbytere, Madame John’s Legacy, Collection Facility, Lower Pontalba, 1850 House, and the Old U.S. Mint
- Support carpentry coverage for additional Louisiana locations as assigned
Requirements
- Proven experience in carpentry with the ability to lead and oversee work
- Strong knowledge of carpentry installation and repair practices
- Ability to read and understand job requirements, plans, and work orders
- Commitment to safety and quality workmanship
