About the Role
As a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Float Pool member, you’ll provide direct patient care under the supervision and direction of a registered nurse. This role supports patients with daily needs, vital sign monitoring, and accurate documentation to help ensure safe, compassionate care.
Responsibilities
- Monitor vital signs and perform blood sugar (Accu-check) checks as assigned
- Assist patients with activities of daily living and report any abnormal findings or changes in condition
- Measure and document input/output and patient weights
- Answer call lights and respond promptly to patient needs
- Assist with patient admission, transfer, and discharge processes
- Help provide care appropriate to each patient’s condition and age
- Distribute drinks and/or snacks and support comfort needs
- Maintain a clean, organized patient room and work environment
- Support the nursing team with additional duties as assigned
Requirements
- Current Nursing Assistant I certification (or required CNA credentials for North Carolina)
- BLS certification (Basic Life Support)
- Ability to monitor and document patient information accurately
- Comfort working in a fast-paced environment and assisting across units as needed
- Strong communication and patient-centered care skills
