About the Role
Microsoft’s Cloud Operations & Innovation (CO+I) team powers the infrastructure behind Microsoft online services, including Bing, Office 365, Xbox, OneDrive, and Azure. As a Critical Environment Mechanical Engineer within CO+I Data Center operations, you’ll help deliver the mechanical systems and foundational technologies that keep our data centers running reliably at global scale.
Responsibilities
- Support the design, implementation, and operational readiness of critical mechanical systems for data center environments
- Partner with subject matter specialists to troubleshoot issues and improve system performance and reliability
- Contribute to maintaining infrastructure that supports large-scale customer workloads
- Drive continuous improvement through structured problem-solving and documentation
Requirements
- Mechanical engineering experience with an emphasis on critical environment systems
- Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills
- Ability to collaborate across technical teams and communicate clearly
- Experience supporting data center or mission-critical infrastructure is preferred
