About the Role
SpaceX is building the systems that will support thousands of Starship launches each year. Within the Starship Supply Chain organization, the Starship Data and Operations Engineering team designs data pipelines, improves operational processes, and creates tools and automation that help the business move faster and make better decisions.
This role focuses on engineering reliable data foundations and operational data flows that support planning, procurement, supplier development, quality, material flow, and inventory across the Starfactory ecosystem.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain data pipelines that support supply chain and operations use cases
- Develop data tooling and automation to improve visibility, speed, and consistency across teams
- Work cross-functionally with operations, engineering, and supply chain stakeholders to translate needs into scalable data solutions
- Improve data quality, reliability, and performance through monitoring, testing, and iterative enhancements
- Document systems and partner with teams to ensure data is usable, secure, and production-ready
Requirements
- Experience building and operating data pipelines in production environments
- Strong data engineering fundamentals (ETL/ELT concepts, data modeling, and workflow orchestration)
- Comfort collaborating with cross-functional teams and iterating based on operational feedback
- Ability to learn quickly and apply engineering rigor to complex, real-world problems
