About the Role
Shield AI is seeking a Director of People Operations to lead and modernize our People Operations function as we scale. You’ll design technology-enabled, AI-powered processes that improve the employee experience across the full lifecycle—from recruiting and onboarding to ongoing employee operations. This role blends strategic transformation with hands-on leadership, partnering across HR, Payroll, Finance, IT, Legal, and business teams.
Responsibilities
- Define and execute a unified People Operations vision, operating model, and multi-year roadmap covering interviewing, hiring, onboarding, and lifecycle operations.
- Own day-to-day People Operations to ensure consistent, high-quality service delivery.
- Partner cross-functionally to streamline workflows and improve employee-facing experiences.
- Lead process improvement initiatives to build scalable, repeatable operations as the organization grows.
Requirements
- Proven leadership experience in People Operations, HR operations, or a related HR function.
- Strong operational mindset with the ability to balance strategy and execution.
- Experience partnering with cross-functional teams including payroll, finance, IT, and legal.
- Demonstrated ability to build scalable processes and improve service quality.
