About the Role
Raven, RA Capital’s healthcare incubator, is seeking a Director or Senior Director, Biology to help advance scientific programs from early discovery through clinical development. You’ll partner with experienced scientists and operators to translate breakthroughs into therapies that are designed to reach patients quickly, safely, and efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Lead biology-focused program strategy across therapeutics and related modalities, from target validation through development planning
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to evaluate scientific evidence and shape decision-making
- Support incubation, acceleration, or rejuvenation efforts by assessing opportunities and guiding technical execution
- Work with internal stakeholders to optimize development approaches and align with clinical, regulatory, and payer considerations
- Contribute to diligence and ongoing monitoring of portfolio company progress
Requirements
- Advanced degree in a relevant biological discipline (e.g., biology, molecular biology, immunology, genetics) and substantial hands-on experience
- Track record of leading biology programs or scientific teams in a biotech or healthcare environment
- Strong ability to interpret and communicate scientific data to technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Experience collaborating across functions such as translational science, clinical development, and regulatory strategy
- Demonstrated judgment in evidence-based decision-making and program prioritization
