About the Role

Join our Business Operations team as a Finance & HR Specialist. You’ll manage day-to-day financial operations and people administration, ensuring accuracy and efficiency across invoicing, billing quality control, payroll support, and HR operations. You’ll also collaborate with external accounting and finance partners to support the employee and contractor lifecycle—from onboarding through offboarding.

Responsibilities

  • Own invoicing and billing quality control to ensure invoices are accurate, complete, and ready for submission
  • Review timesheets, bill rates, pay rates, markups, expenses, and billing data for accuracy
  • Coordinate invoice corrections and resolve billing discrepancies with internal teams
  • Act as the primary operational liaison with external accounting and finance partners
  • Support payroll processing activities, audits, and payroll change workflows
  • Assist with financial reporting requests and maintain financial records and supporting documentation
  • Process and track employee and contractor expense reimbursements
  • Support workers’ compensation and insurance audits, as well as client audit requests
  • Manage accounts receivable follow-up and collections activities
  • Serve as the point of contact for payroll-related questions from employees and contractors
  • Coordinate employee and contractor onboarding and offboarding activities, including documentation and verification requests
  • Administer benefits enrollment activities and track qualifying life events
  • Maintain HRIS data integrity and employee personnel files in compliance with company policies and applicable laws
  • Support policy acknowledgements, required training, unemployment claims administration, and workers’ compensation documentation
  • Help improve HR programs, policies, and processes and support engagement/recognition initiatives

Requirements

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Accounting, Finance, or a related field (preferred)
  • 3+ years of experience in accounting administration, payroll administration, HR administration, business operations, or a related role
  • Experience owning or supporting invoicing/billing, payroll, and financial administration processes
  • Experience supporting onboarding, benefits administration, and personnel records management
  • Experience working with HRIS, payroll, accounting, or ERP systems
  • QuickBooks experience
  • Experience supporting multi-state employees and contractors (preferred)
  • Experience in staffing, professional services, consulting, or project-based organizations (preferred)
