About the Role
Challenge Preparatory Charter School is seeking a Grade 6 Math Teacher for the 2026–2027 school year. Our mission is to help students in the greater Far Rockaway community master New York State Learning Standards, build strong academic foundations, and prepare for long-term career goals. You’ll join a supportive, data-informed learning environment that integrates technology and social-emotional learning.
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging, standards-aligned Grade 6 math instruction
- Use student data to inform instruction and support mastery of learning objectives
- Create a safe, positive classroom culture that promotes academic and social-emotional growth
- Collaborate with colleagues to strengthen curriculum, assessments, and instructional practices
- Communicate progress and learning needs to students and families
Requirements
- Experience teaching middle school mathematics (Grade 6 preferred)
- Strong understanding of NY State Learning Standards for math
- Ability to differentiate instruction to meet diverse student needs
- Commitment to student success, classroom management, and continuous improvement
