About the Role
Challenge Preparatory Charter School is seeking a Grade 7 Math Teacher for the 2026–2027 school year. We serve more than 1,200 students across three campuses in Far Rockaway, Queens, with a mission focused on academic excellence, mastery of New York State Learning Standards, and preparing students for college and career success.
In this role, you’ll help deliver a rigorous, technology-infused and data-informed instructional program within a safe, supportive learning environment that also prioritizes social-emotional growth.
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging Grade 7 math instruction aligned to NY State Learning Standards
- Use data to inform instruction and support student mastery
- Create a classroom culture that is safe, supportive, and focused on achievement
- Collaborate with colleagues to strengthen curriculum and instructional practices
- Provide ongoing assessment and feedback to help students progress
- Support the school’s broader mission through student-centered teaching and participation in school initiatives
Requirements
- Experience teaching middle school mathematics (Grade 7 preferred)
- Strong understanding of NY State Learning Standards for math
- Ability to use student data to drive instruction and interventions
- Commitment to social-emotional learning and a positive classroom environment
- Clear communication and collaboration skills
