About the Role
Challenge Preparatory Charter School is seeking a Grade 8 Math Teacher for the 2026–2027 school year. Our school serves more than 1,200 students across multiple sites in the Far Rockaway area of Queens, with a mission centered on academic excellence, mastery of New York State Learning Standards, and long-term career readiness.
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver standards-aligned Grade 8 math instruction that supports student mastery
- Create a safe, supportive classroom environment that encourages strong social-emotional learning
- Use data to guide instruction and monitor student progress
- Collaborate with colleagues to strengthen instructional practices and student outcomes
- Support a technology-infused, data-enriched learning experience
Requirements
- Experience teaching middle school mathematics
- Strong understanding of NY State Learning Standards for math
- Ability to use assessment data to inform instruction
- Commitment to student growth and a supportive school culture
