About the Role
Join the NIH Office of Research Services as an Industrial Hygienist supporting complex industrial operations and experimental work involving a wide range of chemical agents. In this role, you’ll manage and strengthen the organization’s industrial hygiene program while advising leadership on health hazard controls and resource needs.
Responsibilities
- Manage a comprehensive industrial hygiene program across large, complex industrial operations and research activities.
- Direct and/or perform industrial hygiene functions, including developing instructions and control procedures for complex health hazards.
- Provide expert consultation to management on industrial hygiene matters, including justification of budgets and requirements for staff, facilities, and equipment.
- Lead a training program in industrial hygiene to support safe practices and compliance.
Requirements
- Experience providing laboratory assistance to senior investigators and supporting laboratory experiments for research programs.
- Strong knowledge of industrial hygiene principles and methods for identifying and controlling workplace health hazards.
- Ability to develop clear procedures and training materials for complex chemical and operational environments.
- Demonstrated capability to advise leadership and support planning for staffing, facilities, and equipment.
