About the Role
Parametric, part of Morgan Stanley Investment Management, is looking for a Lead Software Engineer to help design and deliver software that supports custom portfolio solutions. In this role, you’ll lead technical execution, collaborate across teams, and help build scalable platforms that enable efficient implementation of multi-asset strategies.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of software components that support portfolio construction and implementation workflows
- Drive best practices in architecture, code quality, testing, and operational readiness
- Collaborate with product, data, and infrastructure teams to translate requirements into reliable solutions
- Mentor engineers and contribute to a strong engineering culture through reviews and technical guidance
- Identify performance, scalability, and reliability improvements and help implement them
Requirements
- Strong experience building production software in a modern engineering environment
- Proficiency with at least one major programming language commonly used in backend systems
- Experience with APIs, data processing, and integration of services
- Solid understanding of software design principles, testing practices, and deployment/operations concepts
- Ability to lead technical discussions and deliver results in a collaborative setting
