About the Role
As a Marine Transportation System Specialist (Cyber) with the U.S. Coast Guard, you will help implement and enforce cybersecurity and hazard-related executive orders, laws, regulations, and Coast Guard policy. This role supports the safety and security of ports and waterways within the designated Area of Responsibility (AOR).
Responsibilities
- Support implementation of new laws, regulations, policies, and directives affecting cybersecurity across the AOR within the Marine Transportation System (MTS)
- Provide expert guidance on the review and recommendations for facility security plans and assessments
- Coordinate with Facility Inspectors to ensure cybersecurity expectations are met
- Apply relevant executive orders, acts, regulations, and Coast Guard policy to strengthen port and waterway security
Requirements
- Ability to interpret and apply cybersecurity-related executive orders, laws, regulations, and Coast Guard policy
- Experience reviewing security plans and conducting assessments (facility or maritime security preferred)
- Strong communication and coordination skills to work with internal stakeholders, including Facility Inspectors
