About the Role
As a Cardiology Medical Scribe, you’ll support clinicians by capturing accurate visit notes and maintaining up-to-date documentation in the electronic health record. You’ll help ensure care is recorded clearly, prescriptions and orders are handled properly, and follow-ups are communicated when complex cases arise.
Responsibilities
- Observe patient-provider visits and accurately transcribe notes into the patient’s electronic health record
- Update diagnosis information, including entering ICD codes and documenting tests, orders, and care plans
- Assist with writing orders or referrals on behalf of the licensed provider
- Support prescription workflows by sending and verifying medication orders
- Follow up on complex cases and notify providers with relevant updates
- Perform related clinical support tasks such as patient intake, EKGs, and applying heart monitors when not actively scribing
- May support administrative duties including insurance verification, medical records preparation, and appointment scheduling
- Follow all HIPAA and regulatory compliance requirements

- Professional communication skills and a patient-focused mindset
- Comfort working in a fast-paced healthcare setting
- Knowledge of HIPAA compliance practices
