About the Role
Freedom Preparatory Academy Charter Schools is seeking a Middle School ESL Teacher for the 2026–2027 school year. We serve students across Memphis, Tennessee, and Birmingham, Alabama, with a mission to prepare every student in grades PreK–12 to succeed in college and life.
As an ESL teacher, you will help students develop English language skills while supporting access to grade-level learning in a supportive, student-centered environment.
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging ESL instruction aligned to academic standards
- Support English learners in developing listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills
- Differentiate instruction to meet student language proficiency levels
- Collaborate with classroom teachers and other staff to strengthen language supports across content areas
- Monitor student progress and use data to guide instruction
- Maintain a positive learning environment that promotes student growth and achievement
Requirements
- Experience teaching English learners (preferred)
- Strong knowledge of ESL strategies and language development best practices
- Ability to collaborate effectively with educators and support teams
- Commitment to high expectations and student success
- Valid teaching certification/eligibility for the role in Tennessee (as required)
