About the Role
We’re seeking a Network Infrastructure Engineer to support CONUS and OCONUS deployments. You’ll upgrade WAN and fiber infrastructure at remote sites, build out inside and outside plant cabling, and help bring up Layer 1–3 connectivity with the broader network engineering team.
Responsibilities
- Upgrade WAN equipment and fiber infrastructure at remote locations (CONUS/OCONUS)
- Design, install, and implement cable infrastructure for data centers and outside plant fiber
- Collaborate with network engineers to establish Layer 1–3 connectivity
- Install and configure routers, switches, encryptors, and patch panels in racks
- Perform inside plant fiber installation (data center fiber; telecom room to telecom room)
- Perform outside plant fiber installation (building-to-building cabling through manholes and handholes)
- Coordinate with node site coordinators to extend WAN circuits to routers
- Work with remote site POCs to plan, design, and schedule equipment and infrastructure installation
- Coordinate with COMSEC custodians to ensure required Keymat is ordered ahead of installation
Requirements
- Experience installing and troubleshooting fiber optic cabling (inside and outside plant)
- Hands-on experience with network hardware installation (routers, switches, patch panels, encryptors)
- Ability to support Layer 1–3 connectivity bring-up in coordination with network engineers
- Comfort working in remote site environments and coordinating across multiple stakeholders
- Knowledge of COMSEC coordination processes and keying material handling (as applicable)
