About the Role
DHL Global Forwarding (DGF) is seeking an Ocean Import Specialist to support the accurate and timely movement of ocean freight and related information. In this in-office role in Detroit, you’ll help ensure shipments move smoothly across the import process while delivering a high level of customer service.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and track ocean import shipments to support on-time movement
- Ensure shipment details and documentation are accurate and complete
- Communicate proactively with customers and internal teams regarding shipment status
- Monitor exceptions and help resolve issues that impact delivery timelines
- Maintain organized records of freight and import-related information
Requirements
- Strong communication skills and a customer-focused mindset
- Experience working in logistics, freight forwarding, or import operations (ocean preferred)
- Ability to manage details accurately and work efficiently under time constraints
- Comfort working in an in-office environment
