About the Role
UrgentVet provides after-hours urgent care for dogs and cats, helping patients with common emergencies without the cost of traditional emergency clinic fees. We’re looking for a part-time Senior Veterinary Assistant to support exceptional patient care, strong team leadership, and friendly client service in our modern urgent care clinic in Westford, MA.
Responsibilities
- Assist the veterinary team with patient intake, treatments, and ongoing support in a fast-paced environment
- Help coordinate workflow and provide guidance to team members as needed
- Support wound care and common urgent case management (per clinic protocols)
- Prepare patients and equipment for digital imaging and in-house lab testing
- Provide compassionate, clear communication to pet owners during stressful visits
Requirements
- Experience as a veterinary assistant, with senior-level capability preferred
- Comfort working with canine and feline patients in urgent care settings
- Strong client service skills and a calm, professional demeanor
- Ability to thrive in a high-volume, paperless clinic environment
