About the Role
La Familia is seeking a Peer Support Specialist to support individuals in achieving stability and wellness. This role works under supervision at our Merced office and helps participants connect to resources, build coping skills, and maintain progress toward personal goals.
Responsibilities
- Provide peer-based guidance and encouragement grounded in lived experience
- Support individuals in developing and practicing recovery and wellness strategies
- Assist with goal setting, planning, and progress tracking
- Help connect participants to community services and agency resources
- Maintain appropriate documentation and follow program procedures
- Participate in supervision, training, and team meetings as required
Requirements
- Demonstrated ability to relate to and support individuals with behavioral health or recovery needs
- Strong communication skills and a supportive, respectful approach
- Willingness to follow confidentiality and program guidelines
- Ability to work effectively under supervision and within a structured program
- Ability to provide reasonable workplace accommodations when needed (as applicable)
