About the Role
RTX is seeking a Principal Design Engineer to lead mechanical systems design efforts for complex aerospace and defense programs. In this onsite role in East Hartford, CT, you’ll apply deep engineering expertise to guide technical solutions and support mission-critical outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of mechanical systems, from concept through detailed implementation
- Drive technical decision-making and provide engineering guidance to project teams
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure requirements are met and designs are producible
- Support verification activities by contributing to test planning, analysis, and design validation
- Ensure documentation and engineering artifacts meet program and quality expectations
Requirements
- U.S. citizenship required (only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract)
- Advanced experience in mechanical design engineering and system-level problem solving
- Strong technical leadership skills, including the ability to mentor and influence design outcomes
- Ability to work effectively in an onsite environment in East Hartford, CT
