Principal Quality Engineer (Senior IC) - Hybrid in San Francisco, CA

About the Role

Dealpath is evolving how software quality is delivered. Instead of relying on a centralized manual QA team, we’re moving to a model where delivery teams own quality end-to-end—supported by embedded Quality Engineers. As a Principal Quality Engineer, you’ll be a hands-on technical leader who raises standards, builds shared quality tooling, and helps teams solve their toughest quality challenges.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement quality frameworks that improve consistency across delivery teams
• Set engineering standards for testing, reliability, and quality practices
• Build and maintain quality infrastructure and reusable tooling for the product org
• Provide expert guidance to embedded Quality Engineers and engineering teams on complex quality issues
• Coach and develop embedded QEs through technical feedback, reviews, and practical enablement
• Own quality direction for agentic product initiatives, partnering with product and engineering stakeholders

Requirements

• Principal-level experience driving quality strategy as an individual contributor
• Strong technical depth in testing practices, automation, and quality engineering fundamentals
• Proven judgment in setting standards and improving quality outcomes across teams
• Experience building reusable tooling and quality infrastructure
• Ability to influence without direct people management and to support multiple teams effectively
• Comfort working in a hybrid environment with regular in-office collaboration
