About the Role
Seesaw is looking for a Principal Security Engineer to strengthen the security posture of our engineering organization. This role supports our mission by helping ensure our platforms and data remain protected while enabling secure, reliable product experiences for learners and educators.
Responsibilities
- Partner with Engineering, IT, and Legal to design and deliver security solutions across the product lifecycle
- Lead security architecture and risk-focused reviews for new and existing systems
- Drive secure engineering practices, including threat modeling, vulnerability management, and secure-by-design standards
- Improve detection and response capabilities through practical security tooling and process enhancements
- Provide technical guidance to teams and influence security decisions at scale
Requirements
- Proven experience in application, platform, and/or cloud security with strong security engineering fundamentals
- Hands-on knowledge of threat modeling, secure design, and vulnerability remediation practices
- Experience collaborating cross-functionally with engineering and non-technical stakeholders (e.g., Legal, IT)
- Strong understanding of modern security concepts such as identity, access control, logging/monitoring, and incident response
- Ability to communicate clearly and lead through influence
