About the Role
RTX is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to help build and evolve foundation software that powers critical aerospace and defense capabilities. This is a remote role supporting teams focused on solving complex, real-world technical challenges.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain core foundation software components and shared services
- Lead technical direction across architecture, engineering standards, and long-term scalability
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable, secure software
- Mentor engineers and contribute to best practices in software engineering
- Drive troubleshooting and performance improvements for production systems
Requirements
- U.S. citizenship required (U.S. citizen or U.S. person/authorized immigration status to access program/contract information)
- Strong experience designing and delivering software systems at scale
- Proficiency with modern software development practices and toolchains
- Ability to lead technical discussions and make sound architectural decisions
