About the Role
Lumen is looking for a Principal Software Engineer to help shape our next-generation software architecture and deliver secure, high-performance connectivity for cloud, edge, and AI workloads. In this role, you’ll lead with accountability, drive bold ideas, and help build systems that customers and partners can rely on.
Responsibilities
- Advance Lumen’s software architecture strategy for next-generation connectivity platforms
- Provide senior technical leadership across design, implementation, and modernization initiatives
- Partner with engineering and cross-functional teams to ensure performance, security, and resilience
- Translate customer needs into scalable solutions across cloud, edge, and AI-oriented environments
Requirements
- Proven experience as a senior or principal-level software engineer leading complex technical efforts
- Strong architecture and systems design skills with a focus on reliability and scalability
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively and influence technical direction
- Experience building secure software in production environments
