About the Role
Microsoft Silicon, Cloud Hardware, and Infrastructure Engineering (SCHIE) builds the infrastructure that powers Microsoft’s Intelligent Cloud mission. This team delivers the foundational technologies behind trusted experiences for customers and partners across online services worldwide—including Azure, Teams, OneDrive, and more.
As a Principal Technical Program Manager, you will drive complex technical programs that help the cloud business scale—enabling new hardware and cloud offerings to be planned, delivered, and validated on time, at high volume, and with high quality.
Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end technical program execution across cross-functional engineering, operations, and infrastructure teams.
- Define program plans, milestones, and success criteria for large-scale deployments and infrastructure rollouts.
- Coordinate delivery of cloud hardware and infrastructure initiatives with a strong focus on quality, reliability, and customer impact.
- Identify risks and dependencies early; drive mitigation plans and escalation when needed.
- Communicate program status, tradeoffs, and outcomes to senior stakeholders with clear, actionable updates.
- Partner with technical leaders to align requirements, tooling, and operational readiness for production environments.
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience leading complex technical programs in cloud, infrastructure, or hardware-adjacent environments.
- Strong technical depth and ability to manage programs involving multiple systems, teams, and constraints.
- Proven ability to structure ambiguous problems, drive execution, and deliver measurable outcomes.
- Experience managing dependencies, risk, and stakeholder alignment across engineering and operations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for executive-level audiences.
