About the Role
As a Produce Department Leader, you’ll help drive sales and profitability by leading day-to-day operations in the produce department. You’ll model the company’s core values—respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety—while ensuring a great customer experience.
Responsibilities
- Implement company and division policies to support maximum sales and profit goals.
- Lead by example to build strong customer relationships through friendly, courteous service.
- Support store security by staying alert and assisting as needed.
- Handle customer concerns and complaints with a positive, solutions-focused approach.
- Recommend hiring, coaching, discipline, transfers, evaluations, and other personnel actions for department staff.
- Ensure proper onboarding so employees can accurately read scales and prices.
- Train the team on price marking and reinforce customer courtesy and productivity.
- Supervise all aspects of the salad bar to maintain quality and operational standards.
Requirements
- Proven ability to lead and supervise a team in a retail environment.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to resolve issues professionally.
- Comfort working with produce department processes, including pricing and scale accuracy.
- Commitment to safety and adherence to store policies.
