About the Role
Join Harvard’s Office of Research and Academic Compliance (ORAC) within the Office of the Vice Provost for Research. In this role, you’ll help strengthen a culture of research and academic integrity by providing specialized operational and administrative support for compliance across Harvard schools, departments, and research communities.
ORAC leads campus-wide risk and compliance activities, supporting proactive risk assessment, consultation, and mitigation across multiple compliance domains.
Responsibilities
- Support risk and compliance initiatives for key areas including financial conflicts of interest, conflicts of commitment, and outside activities.
- Assist with compliance guidance related to export controls and international collaborations and activities.
- Help coordinate research security and related compliance operations to reduce institutional risk.
- Contribute to education and training efforts that promote understanding of compliance obligations.
- Serve as a central resource for compliance questions, helping stakeholders navigate applicable laws, regulations, and institutional policies.
Requirements
- Experience working in research compliance, academic compliance, or a closely related governance/risk environment.
- Strong understanding of compliance frameworks and a practical approach to risk assessment and mitigation.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain requirements clearly to diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining careful attention to detail.
