About the Role

Fortune Brands Innovations is looking for a Lead Mechanical Engineer to join our Connected Products team. You will own the mechanical design strategy for connected consumer electronics, guiding projects from early concept through mass production. This is a senior role with a strong mentoring component, helping develop mechanical engineering talent while setting technical direction across multiple programs.

Responsibilities

  • Lead mechanical architecture and design decisions for connected product platforms
  • Mentor and guide mechanical engineers, supporting growth and best practices
  • Drive technical direction across multiple programs from concept to production
  • Oversee development through EVT, DVT, PVT, and MP stages
  • Collaborate across functions to support prototyping, validation, and design for manufacturing (DFM)

Requirements

  • Significant experience in mechanical engineering for consumer electronics
  • Proven track record shipping consumer electronic products at scale
  • Strong technical leadership and ability to serve as a senior authority for complex designs
  • Experience with product development lifecycle stages (EVT, DVT, PVT, MP)
  • Ability to influence cross-functional teams and communicate design tradeoffs clearly
