About the Role
Sur La Table is hiring a Seasonal Chef Instructor, Pastry to serve as our in-store expert and enthusiastic advocate for baking and pastry arts. In this role, you’ll deliver #bestincenter service by teaching customers the techniques, fundamentals, and practical tips that help them create great results at home.
Responsibilities
- Instruct in-store pastry and baking classes, demonstrating key techniques and best practices
- Share specialized knowledge in pastry fundamentals, baking methods, and ingredient use
- Provide personalized guidance to customers based on their skill level and interests
- Support a welcoming, engaging in-store experience that reflects Sur La Table’s service standards
Requirements
- Experience with pastry arts and baking instruction (formal or hands-on)
- Strong knowledge of baking fundamentals and pastry techniques
- Excellent communication and customer-focused teaching skills
- Comfort working in a retail environment and presenting confidently
