About the Role
DAT Freight & Analytics is seeking a Senior Applied Scientist to help strengthen Trust & Safety across our freight marketplace. You’ll use machine learning and data-driven methods to identify risk, improve detection quality, and support safer experiences for brokers, carriers, and shippers.
Responsibilities
- Design and deploy applied machine learning solutions to prevent abuse and reduce marketplace risk
- Analyze large-scale data to discover signals, build features, and improve model performance
- Collaborate with product, engineering, and operations teams to translate requirements into measurable outcomes
- Evaluate models in production and iterate on detection strategies based on real-world feedback
- Contribute to experiments, monitoring, and continuous improvement of trust and safety systems
Requirements
- Proven experience applying machine learning to real-world safety, fraud, or risk problems
- Strong skills in data analysis and building reliable ML pipelines
- Experience with modern ML tooling and experimentation practices
- Comfort working cross-functionally and communicating results clearly to technical and non-technical partners
