About the Role
Microsoft Advertising is looking for a Senior Applied Scientist to help build and scale a modernized User Identity Graph. This role focuses on linking user activity across platforms and devices, enabling improved ad personalization, audience targeting, measurement, and richer user insights across MAI surfaces, including Copilot.
You will be a founding contributor to the Ads Data Management Platform team, helping define measurable quality metrics and delivering practical scientific approaches that strengthen the graph’s reliability and impact.
Responsibilities
- Develop and deploy a modernized User Identity Graph for cross-platform user matching
- Create and operationalize graph quality metrics to evaluate performance over time
- Design rigorous online and offline experimentation frameworks to validate improvements
- Partner with engineering and data teams to productionize models, pipelines, and measurement
- Analyze results, communicate findings, and iterate based on experimental outcomes
Requirements
- Advanced experience applying machine learning and statistical methods to large-scale data
- Strong background in experimentation design (online/offline), measurement, and causal thinking
- Experience working with data pipelines and production-ready analytics or ML systems
- Ability to translate business goals into measurable scientific objectives and metrics
- Strong communication skills to collaborate across technical and non-technical stakeholders
