About the Role
Scout Motors is building the next chapter of an iconic American vehicle. We’re looking for a Senior Backend Software Engineer to help electrify and digitize our platform while delivering reliable services that support vehicles, customers, and internal teams.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain backend services that power Scout’s digital experiences.
- Collaborate with product, engineering, and platform teams to deliver scalable features end to end.
- Improve system reliability, performance, and observability across services.
- Write clean, maintainable code and contribute to engineering best practices.
- Participate in technical planning, reviews, and continuous improvement of the service architecture.
Requirements
- Proven experience building backend systems in production environments.
- Strong proficiency with at least one backend language and associated frameworks.
- Experience with APIs, data modeling, and service integration.
- Understanding of reliability practices such as monitoring, logging, and incident response.
- Comfort working in a collaborative, fast-moving engineering culture.
