About the Role
Vast is building next-generation space stations to support a sustained human presence in orbit. As a Staff DevOps Engineer, you’ll help design and operate the infrastructure that powers our rapidly growing platform—from spacecraft operations to mission-critical services. You’ll work with a team focused on safety, reliability, and delivering on time.
Responsibilities
- Own and improve CI/CD pipelines and deployment workflows for production systems
- Design reliable infrastructure and automation to support scalable services
- Maintain system observability (logging, metrics, and alerting) and drive incident response improvements
- Partner with engineering teams to standardize environments, security practices, and operational runbooks
- Continuously optimize performance, cost, and reliability of cloud and supporting systems
Requirements
- Strong experience in DevOps/SRE practices, including infrastructure automation and release engineering
- Proficiency with cloud platforms and related tooling for deployments and operations
- Experience building monitoring and alerting systems and improving operational reliability
- Background working with containerization and orchestration technologies
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a strong focus on safe, dependable operations
