About the Role
Microsoft Silicon and Cloud Hardware Infrastructure Engineering (SCHIE) builds the infrastructure and foundational technologies that power Microsoft’s Intelligent Cloud. The team supports over 200 online services worldwide, including server and data center infrastructure, security and compliance, operations, and manageability solutions.
As a Senior Lab Support Hardware Engineer, you’ll help enable the timely, high-volume deployment of new cloud hardware infrastructure with a strong focus on quality, efficiency, and cost.
Responsibilities
- Provide hands-on lab support for hardware bring-up, validation, and troubleshooting activities
- Support hardware infrastructure readiness for cloud deployments, ensuring configurations meet established standards
- Collaborate with engineering teams to diagnose issues, drive root-cause analysis, and improve reliability
- Maintain lab documentation and support repeatable test and deployment workflows
- Coordinate with cross-functional partners to support high-throughput testing and operational readiness
Requirements
- Experience supporting hardware lab environments, test setups, and troubleshooting
- Strong understanding of server or data center hardware fundamentals
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with validation/testing processes and maintaining clear technical documentation
- Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on quality and efficiency
