About the Role
Inceptive is building the next generation of AI-designed drugs, and we’re seeking a research-focused professional to help characterize biological foundation models. You’ll work within a collaborative, interdisciplinary team to advance molecular design through large-scale generative modeling and lab-informed refinement.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with AI researchers and biologists to assess model behavior, capabilities, and limitations
- Analyze how training data influences model outputs and overall performance
- Identify and prioritize biologically relevant datasets for model development and evaluation
- Design and implement meaningful evaluation approaches aligned to biologically grounded objectives
- Investigate where models succeed or fail, and translate findings into actionable improvements
- Partner with experimental and lab measurement efforts to refine models using feedback loops
Requirements
- Strong background in machine learning and model evaluation
- Experience working with biological or molecular data (e.g., genomics, proteomics, or related datasets)
- Ability to design rigorous experiments and interpret results in the context of biological meaning
- Comfort collaborating across disciplines with both researchers and domain experts
- Proficiency with modern ML tooling and large-scale training workflows
