About the Role
Fastly is on a mission to build a more trustworthy Internet. We’re seeking a Senior Privacy and Regulatory Counsel to support privacy, data protection, and regulatory strategy for our edge cloud platform and customer ecosystem.
Responsibilities
- Advise on privacy and regulatory requirements affecting products, services, and data processing activities
- Support compliance initiatives across applicable U.S. and global privacy frameworks
- Partner with cross-functional teams (engineering, security, product, and operations) on risk assessments and policy implementation
- Review and negotiate privacy-related terms, disclosures, and contractual language
- Provide guidance on incident response obligations and regulatory communications as needed
Requirements
- J.D. or equivalent legal qualification and active bar membership (or equivalent legal authorization)
- Significant experience advising on privacy and regulatory compliance
- Strong understanding of privacy laws and regulatory expectations (e.g., state privacy laws and related regulatory guidance)
- Excellent judgment, written communication, and stakeholder management skills
