About the Role
The Department of Social Services (DSS) supports New Yorkers through programs that address poverty, income inequality, and homelessness. Within DSS, Information Technology Services (ITS) builds and improves the technology infrastructure and applications used by the Human Resources Administration (HRA) and the Department of Homeless Services (DHS). We are seeking a Senior Project Leader to guide complex technology initiatives and help ensure solutions meet operational and mission needs.
Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end planning and execution of technology projects from initiation through delivery.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams to deliver requirements, timelines, and outcomes.
- Manage project risks, dependencies, and stakeholder expectations.
- Support solution delivery by aligning project work with agency operational needs.
- Communicate progress, milestones, and issues to leadership and partners.
Requirements
- Applicants must be permanently appointed in the Computer Specialist (Software) civil service title.
- Demonstrated experience leading software or technology projects.
- Strong ability to manage timelines, scope, and stakeholder communication.
- Knowledge of project delivery practices and risk management.
