About the Role
Makai is seeking a proactive Senior QA Automation Engineer to help lead quality efforts as part of our growing team. This contract-to-hire role is remote, and you’ll serve as a hands-on expert focused on product reliability, performance, and overall user satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain automated QA frameworks to support reliable releases
- Drive quality initiatives across the product lifecycle, from planning through validation
- Identify, reproduce, and help resolve issues to improve stability and user experience
- Collaborate with engineering and product teams to define acceptance criteria and quality standards
- Monitor test coverage and continuously improve automation effectiveness
Requirements
- Proven experience as a QA Automation Engineer or similar role with strong hands-on automation skills
- Experience building and maintaining automated test suites and frameworks
- Strong understanding of software quality practices, testing methodologies, and defect management
- Ability to work independently and proactively drive improvements in a fast-paced environment
- Experience partnering with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality outcomes
