About the Role
Roku is building the TV streaming platform that connects the entire TV ecosystem—from consumers and content publishers to advertisers. In this Senior Software Engineer role, you’ll help design and improve live and VOD video infrastructure that powers streaming experiences at scale.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain backend services and infrastructure for live and on-demand video delivery
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable, high-performance streaming features
- Identify issues, improve system performance, and strengthen observability and reliability
- Contribute to architectural decisions and engineering best practices
Requirements
- Experience building production software systems in a large-scale environment
- Strong software engineering fundamentals (data structures, algorithms, and system design)
- Comfort working with distributed systems and performance-focused engineering
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively across teams
