About the Role
Scout Motors is building the next chapter of iconic American vehicles—combining heritage with electrification, smart digitization, and homegrown innovation. We’re looking for a Senior Steering Gear Engineer to help design and advance steering systems that perform across a wide range of real-world driving conditions.
Responsibilities
- Own engineering development activities for steering gear systems, from concept through validation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define requirements, interfaces, and system architecture.
- Analyze performance, durability, and reliability data to drive design improvements.
- Support testing planning and execution, including review of results and corrective actions.
- Contribute to documentation and design reviews to ensure quality and compliance.
Requirements
- Experience designing or developing steering components/systems (steering gear focus preferred).
- Strong technical problem-solving skills with comfort working from requirements to solutions.
- Hands-on exposure to validation/testing, data interpretation, and design iteration.
- Ability to partner effectively with mechanical, systems, and manufacturing stakeholders.
