About the Role
As a Software Engineer II, you’ll design and build backend services that support scalable, agentic experiences for enterprise customers. You’ll help power intelligent workflows and AI agents by combining distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, and large language model (LLM) capabilities.
In this hybrid role, Microsoft team members typically work from the office three days per week, with the flexibility to work remotely for the remainder of the week.
Responsibilities
- Develop scalable backend services and APIs to support AI-powered enterprise experiences
- Build and operate distributed systems that are reliable, secure, and performant
- Collaborate with engineering, product, and design teams to deliver customer-focused capabilities
- Contribute to system architecture decisions involving cloud services and LLM integrations
- Improve observability, reliability, and engineering practices across services
Requirements
- Experience building backend services in a production environment
- Strong understanding of distributed systems and cloud-scale engineering
- Familiarity with LLM-related workflows or integrations is a plus
- Proficiency with secure software development practices
- Ability to collaborate cross-functionally and deliver high-quality software
