About the Role
SimpliSafe is looking for a Staff Electrical Engineer to help design and advance electrical systems that power our home security products. You’ll work in a collaborative, low-ego environment where innovation and practical problem-solving are highly valued.
This role follows a hybrid work model. You’ll meet in our modern office in Boston on two core days each week (typically Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday), and work remotely for the remainder.
Responsibilities
- Lead electrical system design and technical direction for complex product subsystems
- Partner with cross-functional teams to define requirements, interfaces, and system-level architecture
- Develop, validate, and troubleshoot hardware designs through prototypes, testing, and iterative improvement
- Own technical documentation and support engineering reviews from concept through release
- Continuously improve reliability, performance, manufacturability, and design for scalability
Requirements
- Strong background in electrical engineering with experience designing at the system or subsystem level
- Proven ability to lead technical efforts and drive decisions using data and engineering judgment
- Experience with hardware validation, debugging, and test planning
- Comfort collaborating with firmware, mechanical, and software partners to deliver integrated solutions
- Clear communication skills for technical documentation and stakeholder alignment
