About the Role
Archer is scaling production of an all-electric eVTOL aircraft, and we’re looking for a Staff Manufacturing Design Engineer to support the fuselage area. In this Manufacturing Design Engineering (MDE) role, you’ll help connect aircraft design intent with real-world manufacturing needs.
Responsibilities
- Partner with design and production teams to translate fuselage requirements into manufacturable solutions
- Develop and iterate manufacturing approaches that improve build quality, throughput, and reliability
- Support tooling, processes, and assembly planning for production scaling
- Drive design-for-manufacturing and design-for-assembly improvements across fuselage components
- Collaborate cross-functionally to resolve engineering and production issues during ramp-up
Requirements
- Experience in manufacturing design engineering, production engineering, or a closely related aerospace discipline
- Demonstrated knowledge of aircraft structures and fuselage-related manufacturing considerations
- Strong ability to work across design and manufacturing teams to close the gap between requirements and execution
- Experience supporting production scale-up, including process improvements and issue resolution
