About the Role
Varda is building commercial space infrastructure and advancing manufacturing in low Earth orbit. We’re seeking a Supply Chain Engineer (Mechanical) to help source, qualify, and support the mechanical components and subsystems that go into our in-house spacecraft hardware.
Responsibilities
- Own supplier engagement for mechanical parts, assemblies, and related tooling, from sourcing through delivery.
- Support procurement planning and develop strategies to meet design, schedule, and cost targets.
- Coordinate with engineering and operations to define requirements, evaluate bids, and manage supplier performance.
- Help drive part qualification, documentation, and traceability for flight and mission-critical hardware.
- Identify supply risks and recommend mitigation plans to maintain production flow.
Requirements
- Experience in supply chain engineering, procurement, or sourcing for mechanical systems or aerospace/space hardware.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, quality expectations, and supplier qualification.
- Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, operations, and vendors.
- Comfort working with technical documentation and managing details tied to mechanical components.
