About the Role
KGAN is seeking a part-time, temporary News Producer to help drive the daily production of our newscasts. You’ll collaborate closely with the Executive Producer, Director, Editing Manager, and reporters to shape each show’s content, pacing, and on-air presentation.
Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day newscast production and determine story flow and content
- Work with producers and on-air talent to develop and write compelling segments
- Generate story ideas and support execution of daily news strategies
- Coordinate with editors and reporters to ensure timely, accurate newscast delivery
- Create content for the station’s website alongside broadcast coverage
Requirements
- Strong news judgment and the ability to prioritize under deadline pressure
- Proven writing skills with a focus on accuracy and clarity
- Ability to multitask and manage time effectively in a fast-paced newsroom
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Flexibility to solve problems quickly as stories and schedules evolve
