Vice President, Head of Strategy & Operations (Hybrid) — Biotech

About the Role

Recursion is reimagining drug discovery by combining automated cell biology, high-dimensional data, and AI-driven analytics. As Vice President, Head of Strategy & Operations, you’ll be the CEO’s closest strategic partner—bridging top-tier strategic thinking with the day-to-day operational discipline needed to execute in a fast-moving biopharma environment.

This role is designed to help shape where the company is going while ensuring leadership systems run smoothly—so ambition translates into measurable progress and accountability.

Responsibilities

• Own corporate strategy, competitive positioning, and the board/investor narrative
• Translate strategic priorities into an execution roadmap across executive leadership
• Drive cross-functional alignment to ensure teams deliver against commitments
• Support executive decision-making through analysis, synthesis, and actionable recommendations
• Oversee governance processes and contribute to regulatory filings as needed
• Operate as a force multiplier for the CEO by tracking outcomes, risks, and follow-through

Requirements

• Proven experience in strategy and operations leadership, ideally in biopharma, biotech, or a highly regulated industry
• Consultative analytical skills with the ability to turn insights into executive-ready actions
• Strong operational instincts and experience driving execution through cross-functional teams
• Comfort working with board-level and investor-facing materials and narratives
• Demonstrated ability to support governance and navigate complex compliance and regulatory environments
