AI Engineer (AI-First) | Full-Time | Remote-Friendly

GovPilot United States 07/12/2026
Machine Learning AI Pipelines Python

About the Role

GovPilot builds technology used by local governments and environmental health regulatory agencies across North America. We’re seeking an AI Engineer to help shape how AI is applied in real workflows—moving beyond “using AI” to redesigning how the work gets done.

In this role, you’ll contribute to an AI-first approach where teams rethink processes for better efficiency and a smoother day-to-day experience for users.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and improve AI-driven features that support government and compliance workflows
  • Collaborate with product and engineering teams to translate business needs into AI solutions
  • Develop and iterate models and pipelines to improve reliability, performance, and usability
  • Evaluate system outputs and help implement feedback loops for continuous improvement
  • Document approaches and support maintainable, production-ready implementations

Requirements

  • Proficiency in machine learning and/or modern AI development practices
  • Experience building AI-enabled software services (e.g., APIs, data pipelines, or model workflows)
  • Strong programming skills and comfort working in a production engineering environment
  • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally and communicate technical concepts clearly

Benefits

  • Opportunity to work on AI applications that serve real public-sector communities
  • AI-first culture focused on rethinking workflows—not just adding automation
  • Collaborative team environment with room to drive improvements
